      Clinical Scenario 6

A 59 year old male undergoes bowel surgery. There are no intraoperative complications, and he is extubated in the recovery room. He put out 250ml urine during the 3.5 hour case, and in the first hour in the recovery room his output was 30ml. The patient weighs 100 kg, his blood pressure is 149/90, heart rate 100, CVP 14. He had six liters of fluid in the operating room. You have outruled a post-renal cause.
